Since 1992, I have used Open Source software as a platform to rapidly and inexpensively advance my knowledge of IT. Using this software, I have developed several projects, the pinnacle of which was the opportunity to build a Multimedia Visualization Laboratory at NOAA NESDIS (http://www.nnvl.noaa.gov).
